New Year's Resolutions ... how to get them to work - really!
Every year we all look towards a fresh start. Some of us create lists for new year resolutions while others only focus on one specific change. Either way, it's a way to feel a forward momentum. The bad news is we usually stop moving forward in as little as a few days or weeks.
How can we state those new year resolutions - the changes we are looking to create and get them to really work and stick? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to improve your physical appearance and begin working out? Do you want to make more money? Do you want to create new activities that will enhance and strengthen relationships? It doesn't matter what we are looking for, the secret is to look in the right place and implement our desires in the most powerful way. If we are to move, why not move FAST?
The "Course of Miracles" it states: "God cannot make you want something you do not want. When you ask the Universal Giver for what you do NOT want, you are asking for what cannot be given because it was never created. It was never created because it was never your will for you...ultimately everyone must remember the Will of God and their will are one."
God's Will is for you to return to him - His Will offers you unconditional love and acceptance! His will can only offer you unlimited opportunities, unlimited love, unlimited JOY!
It comes down to what you really believe. Does your belief stem from acceptance? appreciation? Love for ALL you have?
Do you have those God like characteristics OR are you still "seeking" to find them? Remember, we already are Children of God, wouldn't we already have his DNA? Why are you seeking for what you already have? You are perfect the way you are. Any thought of change is stating you are NOT happy with what is. It's simply time to recognize who you are, appreciate what you are and love all that has been offered for you.
Remember, what you focus on expands so when you focus on "want" you will receive more want. When we want anything it really means we are not satisfied with what we have. That belief alone keeps the universe from giving - you are telling the Universe that you do NOT accept what is, you lack appreciation for what has already been given and you do NOT love what you already have! So why would the universe inflict more pain and wanting in your life? It won't-- and then we complain because in reality we have received exactly the answer we asked for.
When we seek anything we are seeking what is not there. How about trying on this for your New Year's resolution - be aware of how you are asking, be aware of the words you speak and how you are feeling. Continue to journal any resistance, disappointments, and/or those frustrations you may feel. Why would I ask you to focus on the negative stuff ... because once you are aware of what is coming out, we identify your true belief -- now we know what to shift and what understanding is required - Acceptance and appreciation is strengthen step by step. Remember, life is a journey not an event!
Create yourself a fabulous day,
Jody
wow what a cool article! yeah, it does seem like being more grateful for what you already have, and appreciating it does seem to call more of it into your life! Gets me thinking about my New Years resolutions!
ReplyDeleteGreat article! Has me thinking about my resolutions and my reasoning behind them. How will I implement them? What is it I want to be and accomplish? Making sure I am in the here and now and appreciating what I have and planning my future.
ReplyDeleteBeing grateful allows more things to come to you that you can be grateful for. Everyday just look at all the gifts you have been given. Also, take a minute and think of what kind of gift you can give too. Generosity and Gratitude go hand in hand!!!
